Michaela (Michi) Benthaus to Become First Wheelchair User in Space on Blue Origin’s NS-37

Michaela Benthanus: First Wheelchair User to Go to Space with Blue Origin.

It is expected that Blue Origin will make history in space with its forthcoming mission, NS-37, carrying the first wheelchair user to space-engineer Michaela "Michi" Benthanus.
Benthanus works at the European Space Agency and went paralyzed after a mountain biking accident in 2018. But it did not deter her from pursuing her career in engineering, and now she is in preparation for a new milestone. She said, "I hope this mission shows that the dream of space is open to everyone."

Who Else Is Flying?

Along with Benthanus, five other crew members will embark on the flight:

Hans Koenigsmann — former SpaceX vice president

Joey Hyde — astrophysicist

Jason Stansell - entrepreneur dedicating the flight to his late brother

Two more passengers yet to be publicly profiled
Each one of them represents a different world-technology, science, engineering, and entrepreneurship, consequently making this flight quite historic and unique.

When is the launch?

While the launch date of NS-37 has not been officially announced by Blue Origin, excitement is growing globally in anticipation of this historic moment.
